Autism Awareness Month Community Spotlight: Pay It Forward Dorf Foundation

More Than a Month: Supporting a Mission Driven by Brotherhood

At Flag & Anthem, we’ve always believed that the best things in life are built on a foundation of family and community. This April, as we observe Autism Awareness Month, we are honored to partner with an organization that proves you’re never too young to change the world for the people you love.

We are proud to highlight the Pay It Forward Dorf Foundation Inc. For the entire month of April, a portion of the proceeds from every purchase you make at Flag & Anthem will go directly toward supporting their incredible mission.

A Vision Born from Brotherhood

The story of the Pay It Forward Dorf Foundation doesn’t start in a boardroom; it starts at home. Founder Brandon Dorf was inspired by his brother, Zach, to find a better way to support families navigating the complexities of life with autism.

At just 15 years old, Brandon recognized that while "awareness" is important, "action" is what changes lives. He launched the foundation to provide the kind of tangible, boots-on-the-ground support that families actually need, including:

  • Legal Aid Services: Helping families navigate the complicated legal landscape of disability rights and education.

  • Home Services: Providing direct assistance to make daily life more manageable for families.

  • Academic Collaboration: Working with a major university to implement cutting-edge, meaningful initiatives for children on the spectrum.

Building Bridges: Officer Friendly Day

One of the most unique and impactful aspects of Brandon’s work is his commitment to safety and community trust. For individuals with autism, interactions with law enforcement can sometimes be overwhelming or misunderstood.

Brandon is working tirelessly to change that. Through collaborations with schools and the annual Officer Friendly Day at UM-Flint, the foundation creates a welcoming space where students can meet and interact with local officers. It’s more than just a meet-and-greet; it’s about building a foundation of trust and understanding that can quite literally save lives.

How You Can Help

Our community is built on the idea of looking out for one another. This month, when you grab a new MadeFlex polo or your favorite pair of chinos, you’re doing more than just refreshing your wardrobe—you’re helping Brandon and his team provide vital resources tofamilies who need them most.

Every April purchase helps us "Pay It Forward."

We want to send a huge thank you to Brandon for his leadership and to Zach for being the inspiration behind it all. Together, we can help build a world that isn't just aware of autism, but actively works to support and include everyone within the community.

Brandon will be attending the annual event this year May 9th in Michigan. To learn more or sign up for the event click here.
